by As you know you can use your iPhone for a lot of things, like navigation, browsing the internet and also you can find almost anything from a coffee shop to a restaurant. But a group of Harvard scientist have thought that they can develop an app for the iPhone that will find landmines.
Even thought we’re in the 21 century, landmines detection is not really that high tech. It’s still being done with a standard metal detector. But usually in a war zone, there is a lot of metal junk in theground so it’s pretty hard to make the difference between some rusty left over metal and a land mine.
The app that will detect landmines is based on the idea that this new software will receive data from a metal detector and will create a visualization of the pattern below the ground. Thus, it reduces the time needed to find a landmine and can be a lot more accurate making
mine detection easier and safer.
