- Cops - The cops in Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit are really cool. The idea of speeding down a highway with your favorite car, modified to law enforcement requirements, you'll feel like the king of the road with your slurpee in one hand and your ticket book in the other! | - Racers - Race with top notch nitro boosting speed monsters of the road! You'll love the cars in Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit and it'll have your adrenaline up and ready for the next challenge as the cars get even better as you unlock them. |
Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit is definitely a must have racing game if you're into speed, crashes and beautiful graphics and quality that almost makes you want to stop your car to admire the scenery. The game features multiple modes that allow you to either play as a cop that hunts down racers before they reach the finish line, or, play as a racer who outruns law enforcement vehicles speeding to the finish line before they take you down. The cars are equally matched so don't think your safer being a racer who can out speed a cop car, because the cop car can speed up just as fast as you can and even set up road blocks. Cops have 4 special abilities while on the road. They can call in a road block, call a helicopter to lay down a spike strip, drop a spike strip from your car and shoot an EMP blast. Each special ability allows you to get the upper hand on your opponents, but don't get too cocky...Racers have the same special abilities. Only racers have a nitro boost special instead of the road block. As I said before the graphics are simply breath taking. One look at this games scenery will truly put you in the mood of the environments. When it rains the floor looks shiny and the screen brightens when lightening strikes. It also has an affect on your cars handling. In terms of graphics, I think this game gives GT5 a run for its money. While GT5 is great, simulator games do not allow the adrenaline speed devil blood boils that you would get from an arcade racing game. This game is like other classic Need For Speed games mixed with Burnout to create one hot pursuit. If you love the "Takedown" aggressive style driving, then you'll enjoy this game. The trophies are fairly easy at first but get challenging when you learn if you want that platinum, you'll have to get gold on all the races and hot pursuit matches. Playing online is just as fun. Unfortunately their is no 2 player modes. The replay value for this game is okay, especially if you have a steering wheel to make it more fun, however, their is no dashboard view mode for NFS:HP. After a while the game gets a bit repetitive and you may lose interest. My only suggestion is to keep rotating between this game and other games and your replay value will be that much better for this game. In conclusion, Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit delivers a fun high speed chase game that lives up to its name. |
