The Tester 2 Review
Introduction:
Hi everyone! I'm SPADEZ, the founder of The-EN.com and I will be watching each episode of The Tester season 2 and giving my own personal reviews on the episodes and what I think of the contestant(s) that were eliminated in each episode. The eliminated contestants will be inside of a spoiler code so that readers have the option of seeing who was eliminated in that episode or not.
Episode 1:
This episode was the introduction of each tester. So far it seems like a few of them are obnoxious with hardly any knowledge or some big time games like LBP or Fat Princess. I mean really, if you don't know what LBP is then you should pack your bags and go home. I don't even know how some of these contestants were even selected into the top 12, but I hope to learn more from these contestants as I watch each episode.
Each of the contestants had to stand on a podium and view an image being pixelated into view while they try to figure out what game it is before the image is completed on the screen. Some of these contestants had no idea what they were even looking at! This one guy named "Big Fazeek" claims to own every single game yet he was one of the contestants who did the most poorly.
The winner of that challenge got a fresh copy of God Of War III signed by Stig himself (The Director of GOW3).

- Spoiler:
Max1m was the first tester to be eliminated. To be honest I'm happy the judges made their decision. I would of eliminated this guy before he could even finish his pompous arrogant statement about how he's not a gamer of games that aren't shooters or sports. How is he even going to be a tester with that attitude? Better yet, how did he even make it to the top 12? In any case, good riddance. We need to see real gamers as testers. Boo was the second to be eliminated on this episode. She blurted out the fact that she wasn't even a real gamer and doesn't even own a PS3? Are you serious? Another mystery on how the hell she got into the top 12. She didn't even recognize Fat Princess or LBP from a photograph. It's a shame she was chosen over some real gamer out there who wanted to be a tester.
Episode 2:
In this episode, the competition starts to heat up with Tripplethreat and Big Fazeek arguing over differences of the first episode when Big Fazeek failed to perform well in the guess-the-image test, after he said he owned "every game". This eventually sparks the feud between Big Fazeek and War Princess, which makes everyone in the house become annoyed with Big Fazeek. At this point it's clear that Big Fazeek is now the most hated on the show. The objective test of this episode starts with being divided into 2 teams. The Red team consisted Samurai, Tripplethreat, War Princess, Gaymer & Scooter. The White team consisted of 8bit-mickey, Big Fazeek, Mo Chocolate, Ches-ka & FantasyGirl.
Special guest judge was the founder and CEO of insomniac games, Ted Price. Each team had to coordinate an army-like segment of marching, saluting and reciting a spoken "tester oath" aloud while the judges watched. The Red team started out really bad; they weren't even in a straight line. Their oath wasn't even in sync. The White team had only 2 team mates holding the rifles, while 2 other team mates marched around them. Seemed kind of cheesy to me. Josh Vanderbeck, a U.S. Air Force Staff Sergeant made the final judgement that the White team had won.
The prize was a Sony digital camera and "Rachet & Clank: A Crack In Time" and "Resistance 2" signed by Ted Price himself.
With elimination up, the Red team was in trouble for losing, somebody was going home. The 2 bottom contestants for this episode were Samurai and Tripplethreat (for the 2nd time in a row.) Who will go home?

- Spoiler:
Samurai - He made a truly noble and honorable move by standing up and saying that he took full responsibility for his Red team's poor performance. He said he is not the kind of person to throw anyone under the bus or put blame on anyone else. He lived true to his name "Samurai" because by saying that, he laid himself down on the sword and got himself eliminated for not really fighting to save himself on The Tester. While he seems like a good guy, he wasn't defending himself well enough to be a competitor.
Episode 3:
In this episode, the contestants start off by hating on Big Fazeek. Ever since his argument with Tripplethreat, everyone in the house found him obnoxious. The contestants were split into 3 teams of 3 for this weeks challenge. First team Pink lead by FantasyGirl with Scooter & Big Fazeek, second team Blue lead by Gaymer with Mo-Chocolate & 8Bit-mickey, third team Yellow lead by Ches-ka with Tripplethreat & War Princess.
The special guest judge was Senior Producer - Santa Monica Studios, Deborah Mars.
The challenge based on a Fat Princess theme, consisted of 2 team mates dressing up in fat suits while being blind folded, as the 3rd team mate communicated navigation by directing them through an obstacle course. If the contestant bumps into anything and knocks it over, they must start over from the very beginning. Eventually the Yellow team won the challenge, which meant someone from the Pink and Blue team was up for elimination. Who will it be?
The prize winners received a Sony headset with noise built-in cancellation.

- Spoiler:
FantasyGirl was leader of the Pink team which was one of the failing teams of this episode's competition. She was the communication of her team and failed to give good enough directions to her team mates. She was slow with her communication and didn't really clarify what she wanted her team mates to do. Because she failed to guide her team through the obstacle course, she was eliminated as the bottom ranked contestant of this episode.
Episode 4:
In this episode, the contestants start off with Big Fazeek & War Princess arguing yet again. They are all suited up in military outfits and set out in a hot desert atmosphere to compete. This is where they met their guest judge of the episode: EA Executive producer Greg Goodrich! Big Fazeek & War Princess actually set their differences aside and helped each other out in this competition. The testers were split into 2 teams of 4. They had to compete by placing 3 suit cases on the ground and gradually created a path until they reached the finish line without touching the ground or the rock walls that were extremely close to them.
Next, they had to unlock a cage with a dummy inside by finding the key in a muddy ditch while 2 of their team mates were handicapped-one having his arms tied behind his back and the other being blind folded. Once they rescued the dummy from the cage, they all had to race to the finish line with the dummy and lay it on a strecher. The contestants with the fastest time won. Who won though? Watch Episode 4 and find out!
The prize winners received a signed copy of Medal of Honor 2010 by EA Executive producer Greg Goodrich.

- Spoiler:
Mickey was eliminated for being the guy who was usually the silent one in the back. I guess he hadn't made much of an impression on the judges although he did joke a lot- like 'Mo Chocolate" did during most of the competitions. Before he was eliminated, Gaymer argued his right to stay while throwing Mickey under the bus. This forced Mickey to speak up to defend himself saying "I do my best, I put my all into this". But in the end, it wasn't enough.
Episode 5:
This episode of the tester was actually pretty good. They actually had a challenge that had something do to with being a tester instead of running through some obstacle course. The testers were divided into 2 teams and had to create a game with the aide of a concept artist to draw what they imagined, bringing their creative thoughts into a visual reality for everyone to grasp better, sorta like the actual process of game developers.
Scooter & Tripplethreat seem to be having some type of love connection in this episode, like last seasons Cyrus & Amped. After the testers created their game ideas, they had to present it to a room of like 20 experienced Sony gamer testers and then take place in a Q&A for the game concept they created. The judges were incredibly hard on the contestants being very critical in there questioning.
Elimination time-as both teams were up on the stand, one team won the Move bundle and the other was on the chopping block. It was a tense moment on who should be to blame for there teams loss. Big Fazeek argued that he wanted nothing to do with his teams idea, Tripplethreat mentioned he wasn't being a team player and should be sent home. The end of this episode seems pretty tense, find out who was eliminated in this episode below or watch episode 5, I recommend watching this episode!
The prize winners received a PlayStation Move Bundle with 2 games designed especially for the Move Controller.

- Spoiler:
Tripplethreat has been eliminated. As the creative director of her team, it was her responsibility to oversee how everything falls into place and she failed at doing so. Clearly the judges and other actual Sony testers didn't like her teams game concept and her presentation of the game was not clear enough. As she walked out you can see how upset Scooter looked as he stated he swears to avenge her by getting Big Fazeek eliminated.
Episode 6:
This episode starts off with the testers having to compete in a go kart racing challenge. As they entered the racing arena they saw 2 drivers racing in there go karts, as they stop and remove there helmets, it turned out to be Cyrus, winner of the Tester season 1, and Naucious, one of the finalist of season 1. They were set to be the guest judges of this episode.
The testers were divided into 2 groups of 3 and each team had a table of 3 types of food: salty, sweet and spicy. One tester had to select a type of food, eat it quickly and jump into the go kart, race around the track, tag there partner, who would run to the table to select a food and run to the go kart to race, etc..
The sweet food was marsh mellows, the salty food was crackers and the spicy food was 1 spoon of horse radish and 1 spoon of wasabi. At the end of the challenge, War Princess could not finish eating the crackers and her team lost. She started crying and Big Fazeek decided to start drama with her. Things heated up at the end of this episode, watch episode 6 today! Take a look at the spoiler below as well, you'll find a shocking surprise.
The prize winners received immunity from elimination... or did they?

- Spoiler:
Big Fazeek has been eliminated. He was the most hated on in this season of the Tester since day 1. He has been yelling, arguing, being unfriendly and rude and even though its a competition, it doesn't mean you should be a doosh bag. In any case, everyone wanted this guy OUT and even though he was on the winning team from being eliminated in this episode, everyone ganged up on him to eventually get him eliminated. "I wouldn't want this person working with the Sony family, I'm sorry but your time is up, you're not the next PlayStation Tester." - Brent Gocke. War Princess was next to be eliminated. She was the weakest link of this episode, yet again on the bottom for the 3rd time of this season. She could not eat the food fast enough which caused her team to fail. But before she left, she managed to have Big Fazeek ganged up on and eliminated.
Episode 7:
As this episode kicks off, the final four remain, Ches-ka, Gaymer, Scooter & Mo Chocolate. The tester huddle in a private conversation to discuss how much Mo Chocolate is not fit to be a tester, Ches-ka, Gaymer & Scooter all decided to go against him.
The contestants challenge in this episode was to compete in a trivia game show set up contest. Ches-ka got worried when Mo Chocolate started answering everything correctly but the odds stacked up against Mo Chocolate in the end. You can see the look on the judges and Mo Chocolates face as they all begin to become aware of what they are trying to do. Scooter starts to feel bad but reminds himself its a competition and he must survive.
The guest judge on this episode is SCEA World Wide Studios, San Diego Studio, Senior Producer, Travis Williams, who created the PSN game "PAIN". The winner of this episode will receive a Sony Entertainment Camcorder. There is only 1 more episode after this one until we find out who the winner of Tester 2 is!! Stay Tuned next week for my final episode review on the tester 2.

- Spoiler:
Mo Chocolate has been eliminated. Despite how far he has made it or the friends he might have made on the show, the other contestants were all in agreement that he was too comical to be taken seriously as a PlayStation Tester. Throughout the challenge he was picked on until he eventually lost. He left the show with his head up high in a good mood, while they were sad to see him fall, they knew it was the right choice to have him eliminated.
Episode 8 (FINAL SHOW):
This episode was intense. The final episode, the final 3, it's game time! The testers sat down for some breakfast with the judge panelist. They spoke and laughed and carried on and then it was competition time! The testers were blind folded and then drove to a warehouse (seems like something out of a saw movie O_O.). They were gradually walked into a cage and were given instructions on the rules. 1 2 3 TAKE OFF YOUR BLIND FOLDS! The tester quickly had to figure out a way to get hold of there key several feet outside of their cage. They were given tools like duck tape, a wooden stick, wire and a metal hook.
After they got out the cage they had to run over to compete in mini puzzles one of them being to shoot targets of glass balls to obtain numbers hidden inside them. They were to use those numbers in a combination to unlock a box holding the PS3 controller. From there they had to run out of the warehouse and into a car that drove them to their next challenge.
The first to make was Gaymer, followed by Scooter and then Ches-ka. They each had to use their PS3 controller to play Killzone 3 and eliminate all the enemies and complete the mission. Who ever completes the mission first WINS the Tester 2 competition and goes on to becoming a real tester for Sony Entertainment. Who will win this intense battle of Killzone 3? Watch Episode 8 Now or continue to read the spoilers below!

- Spoiler:
Ches-ka was rumored all around the internet to have won the competition. Apparently the rumors were misleading and she was not victorious. In Fact she claimed she was one of the toughest competitors in both seasons and well, she puts up a pretty good argument having been one of the only competitors to win most of all the challenges. She put up a good fight but was ultimately defeated not being able to complete the Killzone 3 mission fast enough. Good job for making it to the finals Ches-ka, you earned it. Scooter was the closest to Gaymer during the Killzone 3 mission match up. In fact, he was almost eliminated in the beginning of this contest for losing his hook, making it even harder for him to obtain the keys to get him out of the cage, but he still managed. Scooter was always the guy laughing at everything and just having fun. Definitely a strong competitor in the Tester 2. Unfortunately with him being only a couple seconds away from winning, he did not complete the KZ3 mission. Good job for making it to the finals Scooter, you earned it.
Conclusion:
This
season of The Tester was pretty good. It started off slow but once we all got use to who the competitors were we finally appreciated the show a little better. Things were a bit more intense this time around with Big Fazeek causing a lot of drama. Its unfortunate that he was like that but eventually he got him kicked off the show anyway. I would like to congratulate all the testers who made it on the show and made it far into the competition. You all did a good job, some better than others.
I hope you all enjoyed reading my reviews on Tester 2 and I hope you stay on EN to see all we have to offer here. Stay tuned on The-EN.com because we will be bringing you more reviews when The Tester 3 comes out!

- Spoiler:
Gaymer has won The Tester 2! During the last episode he had a talk with Travis Williams (guest panelist from episode 7) about how the game industry has no diversity. He explained how one of his trans-gender co-workers were talking about the operation and Travis told him as long as he wasn't quitting, and he knows his stuff, everyone is welcomed. Gaymer was filled with emotion to realize how much the gaming industry has so many different kinds of people who do not discriminate. He was neck and neck with Scooter on the KZ3 demo but ultimately he completed the mission and won Tester 2. Congratulations Gaymer, you earned your spot as a new Sony Playstation Tester!!
