I've heard the same. I know a couple guys who have one, and they dont find it to be too fragile, but they also dont toss shit around like special ed 14 year olds.
I'm betting it's not as good as a mouse, but better than the sticks. So we'll see. I'll report back

Your aim better but bf3 beta wayglitchy this morning.... Person shot a tree it fell on me and well I got stuckthere... Got shot like 20 times never died... So ducked down stayed stuck took out everyone who walked byme... Lolz it was fun thou... But after 6time falling though the map I gave up. Soooo hope you guys have better luck then I did...

I'm not hating like a lot of people because the beta sucks, I have my bf3 pre-order paid already.

If a tree fell on you and you got stuck it's not a bug it's just circumstance. There is a suicide option in case you're stuck or need to warp over to protect the base. You falling in the same hole 6 times and going through the floor is you making the same mistake 6 times. Just don't run into the obvious hole in the ground.
The bugs that bothered me were...
The obvious hole in the ground and falling through the map.
My character all jittery by cover, he wouldn't stand still.
Going prone on a slope and seeing through the floor.
My gun would occasionally stop zooming in, I had to fix it by switching guns.
My charcter would stop sprinting, I had to fix it by going crouch/prone.
