    What's new in iTunes 10.1

    • Use AirPlay to instantly and wirelessly stream videos from iTunes to the all-new Apple TV.

    • Sync with your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch with iOS 4.2.

    • Provides a number of important stability and performance improvements.

Apple’s iPhone Dev Center lists the availability of iOS 4.2 Beta 2 and iTunes 10.1 Beta, two downloads targeting programmers enrolled with Apple’s iOS Developer Program.

According to those familiar with the two software builds, iOS 4.2 Beta 2 brings refined animations for iPad multitasking, new YouTube video uploading options, and new Game Center compatibility indicators on the iOS App Store, while iTunes 10.1 Beta gets printing support.

Using the new iTunes, developers will be able to test printing via AirPrint from iOS apps.

iOS 4.2 beta 2 is reportedly labelled build 8C5101c and weighs in at 521 MB for the iPad, and 623 MB for the iPhone 4.

This release of iOS 4.2 marks the second beta of the software, which regular customers should be getting as a free update next month, according to Apple’s schedule.

As noted above, the beta is currently available for enrolled developers, and can be installed on the iPad, iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, iPhone 3G, and second-, third- and fourth-generation iPod touch.

The first beta of iOS 4.2 was released earlier this month. It was the first iOS build to include support for AirPrint, the new wireless printing ability implemented by Apple for its iOS devices.

The feature allows users to print stuff directly from their device, via a shared printer connected to a PC or Mac.

Some printers are already capable of supporting the standard out-of-the-box, meaning no computer connection will be required with those respective devices.

Apple markets the forthcoming iOS 4.2 with a focus on the iPad, as the update incorporates both new, unreleased additions, as well as iOS 4-specific features that only iPhone and iPod touch owners can employ for now.

Those with an Apple developer account can visit Apple's iOS Dev Center to download the goods.

    Ping Adds Twitter Integration
Yesterday Twitter announced that the service will have direct Ping integration. This will allow you to automatically Tweet messages from Ping, such as music you like, dislike, review, etc. You will also be able to click on a user's Ping Tweet and have a playable song or album show up on the sidebar of your Twitter page.

One thing to watch out for is that Ping will Tweet on it's own, unless you change the settings to require that you do it manually. You know, just in case you happen to enjoy music that you don't want your friends knowing about.
