    Alert Attention: Music Section removed.

Post by SPADEZ Tue Jul 05, 2011 6:54 pm

Unfortunately, I have been contacted by "Onlineguardian.net" which is an organization created to maintain the law on websites throughout the internet. They consider it copyright infringement to have any music on The-EN.com that I do not own the rights to. Because of this, I have been forced to remove the entire music section off The-EN.com otherwise I'll face law sues for mass producing copyright material. This pains me as it may pain all of you to know this but it's either risk having The-EN.com shut down and hit with law sues or remove the section and continue The-EN.com's production on the gaming and technology aspects.

EN Artist will remain as the content of EN Artist is created by the users and shared with people on The-EN.com. That is the users choice to share there own content.

The-EN.com will undergo another inspection of Onlineguardian.net to verify if I am complying with their request remove anything unlawful. I'll keep you all updated on the status of EN within the next 48 hours. Thank you all and I apologize for this action but it had to be done.

I'm with you, none of that content was directly uploaded to EN, they were all copy pasted "videos" uploaded by people that dont own the songs either, but what can we do? nothing Sad As Spadez said, it had to be done. Anyway let's keep making EN a better forum for everyone. BTW, I dont know if it's just me but the home icon is gone, or there isn't a Home anymore?

Embedding Youtube videos is completely legal. If there is a copywrite infringement it must be dealt with via Youtube, as that is the source.
I understand complying with Onlineguardian, but fear you might be hoodwinked.

I agree with you 100%, but I have a clock on my head to handle this "violation" within less then 24 hrs now. I need to look more into this because there may be loop holes that favor our opinion or favor their opinion of embedding these videos on The-EN.com

    I was told this:

"I will give you a example related to videos. I recorded a certain football game on tv from ESPN. I upload it as a video on my account. People start watching it by embedded codes on my forum. However, i am providing copyright content by ESPN which is absolutely wrong. hence, this too is against copyright laws. I have no permissions to create copies of the game & distribute it in any way."

Exactly, none of us uploaded any of the songs there, we just embedded them(Is that distribution?), if the songs gets removed from youtube we will not be able to listen to them here. BTW none of us got money out of it. I don't think we can do something about it anyway.

If a site has embedded YouTube videos that break copyright regulations, it's akin to aiding and abetting. This is a massive issue for sites like Wikipedia. It falls under "contributory copyright infringement".

It's bullcrap, but there are a few amendments and bills in front of the Senate to adjust this. Not that any of those will come into play before Spadez's window closes.

Archive that shit somewhere though, man. That's a good collection, and one day it will all be kosher to post. You'll wish you did. Or gate that shit in a "safer" way. But that's a completely different ball of wax.

For now, don't fuck with onlineguardian. Just do what they ask, comply, and back your shit up off line.

The time has come for EN to stand up against oppression. You cannot hold us down! We will embed youtube videos! If you have a problem with it, take it up with YOUTUBE!

The problem was resolved a while ago and as you have all mostly noticed, the music sections disclaimer has been modified to become more elaborate and easier to read. It was a big miscommunication by elitist tards on the internet who had nothing better to do and didn't do their research on EN apparently. Anyways problem resolves topic locked. Smile
