When Karin Mackaliunas crashed her car Sunday night in Scranton, Pennsylvania the accident was the least of her worries. Inside her body
she was packing 50 bags of heroin all located within her vagina.
When a coffee cup rolled under her pedal Mackaliunas, 27, crashed her car on the off-ramp from McDade Expressway. When Scranton Patrolwoman Nancy Baumann interviewed her at the scene it seemed all was fine. Baumann was about to let Mackaliunas go with a friend who had arrived at the scene to pick her up. That's when the police woman got a call from Patrolman Anthony Cali on Mackaliunas' cell. It seems that there had been a theft at the Dunmore Inn. Baumann was asked to take Machaliunas into custody. A search for weapons turned up three packets of heroin in a jacket pocket. That was enough for her to be charged.
Once into the back seat of Baumann's cruiser the suspect was getting fidgety. It was there that Mackaliunas admitted that she had more heroin
stashed away, inside her body.
During the search process a struggle ensued that resulted in the suspect being taken to Community Medical Center for the most thorough of searches. A doctor recovered 54 bags of heroin, 31 empty bags used to package heroin, 8.5 generic Xanax pills and $51.22 all hidden within the
woman's vagina.
Karin Mackaliunas has been charged with possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and two counts of possession of a controlled substance. Theft charges are pending. She is being held on $25,000 bail.
