PS3 Console Bans Soon, New Firmware 3.60 Inbound

Sony has not released an official response to the recent PS3 jailbreak problem that has afflicted the console. This weekend Slygamer contacted the Sony Technical Support Department and asked them some hard questions about the Jailbreak. In the video/audio below, the gamer poses as a jailbreaker that claims he believes his device is jailbroken and needs advice on what to do about the situation.

The Sony representative tells him that he will be banned, and that he should "Buy a new Console", before backtracking and telling him that he shouldn't go online with the device or risk a permanent banning to both the console and the accounts associated with it. Have a listen to the audio below, the representative also mentions that Sony will be issuing an update soon that will "fix" the problem.

wow, i really dont know what to do, i delete the bot history, y deleted the game.dat, the patch.dat, and went back to original 3.55, i dont kinow if making an update or not, somebody help me, i dont want perma ban on my account!!!

The whole reason for the update was to STOP the JailBreak. It saves Sony in the end from issuing a lot of BANS! Enabling them to continue to make extra cash from us from those useless items on Home and those shady games they sell on the PSN. Thou it wont be long before a new CFW is released, that I'm sure of. Since they already found the new "keys" in 3.56.

KaKaRoToKS has already found the keys.. and has released them. So don't go updating blindly unless you have no other choice.

They have decrypted the 3.56 and there are only a few files added in from the 3.55 OFW ps3swu.self and a new .tar with spkg_hdr.1 files

Thou they can't sign anything YET for the 3.56 its only a matter of time.

i updated to 3.56, i think i survived the banhammer.

I bypassed the 3.56 update.

i still doubt that sony ban for jailbreaking now though they could have already was my point but they didnt becuase be banning there own custumer and that isnt smart buniess

there not going to ban you for firmware change because so many accepted it. but for those who used the ftp for black ops and other games...its up to them for issueing a ban for cheat gaming. playstation isnt going to issue alot of bans for home users with ftp. wouldnt make sense for them to. i do hope they losen the reigns on whose console does it belong to anyways.

yes but for how long is that ip going to last? thats the question. once that sites down and no others take its place..your going to have to upgrade to play. oO
