by The world’s first electric airplane comes from Sonex and we can say that it looks promising. Of course, electric airplanes aren’t as safe as electric cars or bikes, especially if you run out of power in mid air, so we’re doubting that we’ll see them anytime soon as passenger aircrafts, but that doesn’t mean that electric airplanes do not exist and that they don’t work.
The electric airplane from Sonex can fly and it was taken for a test fly recently. In order to prove that their airplane is safe, Sonex chairman and E-Flight captain John Monnett flew together in the electric plane. Everything went well, and these two have proven that electric planes are real and that they are safe. Only thing that Sonex has to do, is to find a way to extend the flight duration, therefore, we doubt that we’ll see electric airplanes in stores anytime
soon.
