DC Universe online

In DC Universe Online, players will be thrust headlong into an action-packed online world based on the heroes, villains and landmarks of the DC Universe. In the game, players step into the role of the next legendary superhero or villain and are given the choice to save or conquer the universe online. Along the way, players will be fighting alongside or against iconic DC characters as well as other players for the fate of the DC Universe.

Stupid question here, but is this MMO f2p? SOE usually charges if I recall correctly. I've always been hesitant about MMOs. This one seems to do a good job of mixing action, super heroes, and classic MMORPG mechanics.

According to a Sony spokesperson, the revenue model will be subscription based with a user cost of $14.99 per month, rather than using microtransactions. Eurogamer.net has confirmed for the UK the subscription will be £9.99 a month, £27.99 for three months, and £49.99 for six months. The cost for Australian subscribers is $19.95 AUD.

you are always paying to play, you pay for the CDs to play them, stuff like MMORPG is another thing, you have to pay a subscription for WoW, wizard101, GUild Wars, Maple Story, etc... THey're all right the same concept as DCUO, why not paying for it too? Final Fantasy 14 isn't free to play. It is for now, because the developers realize that it sucks. They've even fired some top-level management to make things right. It's probably only going to be free until it's worth a damn.

Also, I'm pretty sure Guild Wars is free, kev.

The only mmos that actually are free are usually boring anime style korean games that have terrible gameplay. I guess you get what you pay for.

Paying for this game monthly is the big turn off to me. Its a cool game but I dont think its worth that much of a total cost, especially when the replay vaule isn't all that great, it gets old after a while, to me at least. Great game but replay vaule dies fast and the monthly subscription fee makes it that much less attractive.

this game should be for xbox they would piad for this monthly :p on top one they already paid supirse MS not push for this game to be on xbox lol
