Battlefield 3's Caspian Border Opens to PC Beta Testers Starting Today Battlefield 3's Caspian Border, packed with vehicles and jets, is getting one last test before the open beta shuts down.

Developers DICE writes on the Battlelog blog that they're opening up the map this weekend to do some load testing using 64-player matches.

Do keep in mind that this is a beta and a stress test, so it is likely not going to be the smoothest online gaming you've participated in.

"As we are again specifically testing 64-player server configurations, this test will be for PC only. The Caspian Border servers will be available for all PC players to join. Caspian Border will be available starting Friday, October 7, in the afternoon (CET)," according to the blog post.

Anyone running this test from EN? This weekend is slated as a SWTOR weekend for me, but I'd run a few maps if other are. That said, if anyone is in SWTOR beta, let's hook up there instead

I tried to play the game on PC, got an error saying that My Intel HD graphics sucks. LOL
BTW, BF3 will have better graphics on consoles when the full game releases.

Yeah I get the feeling that the console betas are a few builds old. Which is okay and makes sense. get something back at a semi stable state, stress it out.. check your telemetry maps, tweek, press gold, launch, patch, win.

My fiance rocks the custom box these days. I couldn't even tell you what's in there without opening it up. It's to the point where she says "such-and-such is busted/outdated, which should I buy?" .. Then open newegg on her browser and say, "get that one." and she does.

I run a Mac Pro, and boot into a gaming Windows partition.

two geForce 8 series vid cards (need to upgrade these bitches badly)

For today's gaming it does the trick aside from the vidcard. the bootcamp shit has a hard time using the 2nd processor and the 2nd vid card slot in terms of multi tasking. I need a new card pairing, and maybe a sexy little solid state drive for the active projects I'm working on.

I'll probably grab the 2xRadeon 6850 solution when the next gen ATIs come out this holiday season. Might be able to grab this for ~$150, or even 125.

Honestly, she is a little more hardcore on the PC end than I am. Most of my desktop time is spent editing video.

Edit on the Mac, play the PS3 while it renders. Rinse. Repeat.

She's talking about buying a completely new setup. She has a handful of parts that are about to be semi-outdated, and she wants a new case. If she buys a new box I'll be taking her current one and figuring out how in the fuck I'm going to manage all of those displays... then having Mac + PC + PS3 editing/gaming station.

Damnit, now I actually want her to buy the new box... lol.
