Who is to blame for PSN Outage?

I want to run a poll to see how many people believe hackers, Sony or both are to blame for the PSN outage. There has been tons of information on EN and throughout the internet discussing the situation and updating the status of the outage. Question is, who is to blame? Here are some things to consider before voting:

• Hackers: Started out with fail0verflow and Geohot hacking the PS3s root keys and Sony suing Geohot for releasing methods on how to do this. The court case brewed until the Anonymous hacker organization jumped into the mix and took a shot at Sony. On multiple occasions Anonymous has said they were going to attack Sony, and PSN and the official PlayStation forums have gone down multiple times since then. On April 20th, PSN went down and is currently as of this date (4/26) still down. Anonymous, however, claims no involvement in this current outage.
  
  
• Sony: Since the PSN outage on April 20th, Sony has been giving all kinds of different information. First they said it was a 3rd party attack, then they said the problem is in Japan and Japanese engineers are working around the clock to fix the problem, then they go back to saying it was an "external intrusion" on the PSN servers. Sony seems to be confused about whats going on themselves. They recently released an update on the outage, stating that PSN will be back up in about a day or 2. That date is now long over due and PSN is still down, while Sony "re-builds" their servers with additional security.
  
  
• Both: It's clear that hackers have attacked PSN on multiple occasions and leave no doubt that they can in fact be behind it all. Anonymous claims no involvement, yet they have said things on their Facebook page that will give off subliminal messages as if they were the culprit and pleased with their results. Telling gamers to have fun without PSN, enjoy the finer things in life, "we hope you understand the bigger picture", etc.. Sony on the other hand claims their servers were attacked however they are the ones who shut down PSN and decided to re-build the servers with additional security while providing very little update information on the progress or the actual cause, except for saying it was an "external intrusion". PSN has been down this long because Sony put them offline, thats the fact of the matter.

Take all of this information and formulate your own conclusion. Who do you think is the blame for the PSN outage?

It's both sides's fault really. But let it be known, the hackers are the antagonists , through and through.

The only thing Sony is guilty of is not being in control of the situation at the beginning and giving into frenzy by shutting down psn abruptly. Their silence and aloofness is understandable if it let them have the oppurtinity to catch those culprits. If they didn't get them, it's a shame..

Cause those people must die for depriving us of our beloved psn.

for sure it both but psn fan boy so going said the hacker fault because they love machine like they would love there G/f or B/f and that sad :p

I'm going to say both, for the reasons I stated in the OP.

I blame both, from wat i been hearing is that there was sum CFW called REBUG & gave hackers the ability to steal games from PSN & make the PS3 a dev PS3 or somethin & the reason I blame Sony is cuz I heard they took care of the hackers awhile ago but are keepin it down just to improve their security but @ the end of the day as long as PSN is down we all lose >_>

Hm, i withdraw my previous statement. After gathering much needed facts afterwards , ive come to the conclusion that the main culprit behind the PSN Outage is neither Sony nor the Hackers but...

OMG they both at faught sony screwed up by letting it get this far harkers are at faught just because their f*cking up psn OMFG really this is so not it u know what sony fired a tech and he has all codes and info he nice to crash sony his pissed cause he got fired for jerking off at work LMOA jk but it could be anyway i hope sony up soon got like 12 tropies i want up lol
