What religion are you?

I'm a born catholic turned agnostic.

I was born and raised Catholic. Came from a very religious, go to Sunday school (even though it was really on Tuesdays 0_0), go to church on Sundays, pray every evening at 6 pm when gramma was around type of family. As an adult, I didn't really go to church-still don't..lazy I guess? Well my husband was raised following a different religion other than mine, so it's always conflicting when it comes to our spawn. Big arguments have emerged because of this, so it was best that we left it alone.

But what happens when your spawn begin to question the makings of the earth and God and Jesus? What do you tell them exactly? What you know right? As parents we try our best to explain to them the whys and hows, but it's difficult. There are so many theories and beliefs out in the world. We only explain to them what we know..what we were taught. I may not go to church every Sunday..or at all anyway..nor do I abide by what's considered to be a good Catholic-and the same goes for my husband, but we know what's right and what's wrong. We have our own relationship to this 'higher being' and make sure we're grateful at the end of the day that we still have our life, health, and happiness.

So it pretty much comes down to building our own relationship and having our own faith to what constitutes as being a good person. Religion is a touchy subject for many. We don't down other religions; to each his own. It's just sad how hate and war often derive from religious influences. Don't down what anybody else believes in because your shit stinks just as much as everybody elses. If you believe in aliens, more power to you. It's those that start end of the world shit and aim to harm nature and humanity. We all know that's just not right.

And I do believe in aliens! idk about bootyhole probing 0_0 (exit only please)but I believe there's a higher being out there. Supernatural occurences that can't be really explained..but that's just me. But then again, who's to say that what we believe in isn't based on some sort of religious influence? It obviously started somewhere..

I'm Agnostic.

alot of people confuse atheist's with agnostics.

here is a lil clarification.

Atheists - do not have faith
Agnostics - have faith in whats been proven

But yeah I used to go to church, there were some hot girls there and most were freaks lol. The weirdest church I ever went to was down the street from my house. I only went there because this group of really hot girls asked me to go. but I was weirded out when they started speaking in tongue and trying to heal people of their fears. They asked me "what are you afraid of?", I said "The weirdos in this church". Ever since then I really have started to hate Christianity, I get people knocking on my dorr waking my ass up to try to convert me. but its funny, they send the hottest asian girls (like they know about my yellow fever or something lol) so I answer the door only to be blind sided by a bible....ugh. They are worse than the people in malls that sale cell phones. I would have said drug pushers but has any dealer ever tried to push a drug to you, fuck no they just offer.

anyways, hope I didn't offend anyone and if I did, its your own fault.

In regards to your post Meesh, I believe explaining the truth to your spawn that their is many different ways that people view god and that you and your husband share different views with the same common purpose overall. Of course you don't have to tell ur spawn that at such an early age, however you can break it down in that form of discussion. To me, religion is only a set way of believing in the same thing; That their is or are powerful God(s) that exist and we must pray to. If your spawn can understand this, he will grow up acknowledging the truth, rather than being confined to one religious view.

In regards to your post houd, I must say I agree. Atheist are entirely different from Agnostics. The reason I became Agnostic was because I was never a religious person. I always rather, considered myself spiritual. Their was things about Catholicism and other religions that I didn't agree with. Like the fact that Catholics have the Vatican City which has their own ruling and guards with fire power. I heard things about the bible missing books and that Catholics removed those books from the bible and hide them inside the Vatican so that we wont have that knowledge. Corruption. This is why I wanted nothing to do with a predefined religion, but rather believe only what I wanted, not what somebody else embedded on me. However, over the years I started losing my faith based on personal incidents and the more BS that happened the more I questioned and the more logical I became. Hence why I am now Agnostic.

In regards to your post Maynard, I agree to some extent, but I cannot declare myself an Atheist. The sole purpose I became Agnostic was because I believe he can do a better job. The world right now seems pretty lawless in terms of divine order.

hey i maybe Agnostic then i want to belive there a god but they not doing much to help man kind christan said god renvegeful but then why does let so many bad things happned little child did nothing wrong i just dont know

What do you mean make u feel bad? Also it has to be related to a religious conversation in which they made u feel bad.. otherwise it's irrelevant, the fact that they were catholic and made u feel bad.

The subject of religion is a very touchy one as I stated in my post above. It's all a matter of opinions and different views. Whether we like it or not, each belief system that a person has will always be questioned one way or another because someone else will disagree. What ever your faith may be Raz, as much as you believe in it, by all means stick with it. Nobody else can tell you other wise. It's what ever works for you.

I was raised in a Baptist Church. Upon growing older and forming my own opinions, I just state that I am a Christian, and that Jesus died for my sins. Religion divides people and starts wars. I just stick to what the Bible says. In the words of my grandmother "If I die and there is no God, what did I lose? If I die and there is a God, I'm going to heaven." FYI I dont push my beliefs on people, just stating what I believe.

I am Catholic changed to atheist. Now i kinda can't really declare what i believe, but now I believe there is a God, just i don't really believe in the church.
